Norway
This page will one day hold photos and stories from my future trip to Norway, but until then
it just holds a candle to my fascination with it, and its people.
Books on Norway
The following 3 books are my preferred selection for readings
on Norway. They complement each other completely. The first
is almost like a novel, and gives you the first hand experience of
moving to Norway. The second is purely reference and can
answer any question you may have (and I mean ANY). The third
is a more interesting reference, with a lot of pictures.
So, with these three books, you get facts, stories,
and pictures to accompany the latter two. What a great combination!

Another
Culture Shock book, except this one is about
Norway.
It was written by Elizabeth Su-Dale, and I found it informative
and entertaining. It's written like a reference, but with fewer facts, and more stories.
She's organized it well, and given a great first person
perspective of an outsider moving to, and living in Norway.
Unlike a reference which is filled with facts (even though there are a lot
of useful facts in this book) this book let's you experience
living in Norway in a way that is more interactive.
You can buy it at
Barnes and Noble or
Amazon.com. I highly recommend it for someone moving to Norway.

It was originally written by Patricia Crinion Bjaaland, and has since
been revised by Michael Brady and Belinda Drabble. It's written like a
reference, and is the best reference on Norway that I have read. It has EVERYTHING
you need to know. From the windows needed on your house, to berry picking
and immigration laws, this book covers all aspects of living in Norway
(hence its relevant title).
You can buy it at
Barnes and Noble or
Amazon.com. I highly recommend it for someone moving to Norway.

Another Insight Guide book, except this one is about
Norway.
It was written by the talented editors at Insight Guides, and it
has a lot of nice pictures.
It's organized as a references, but I found the material
read like a novel. It has a lot of Norwegian history, and
culture.
You can buy it at
Barnes and Noble or
Amazon.com. This book is 90% eye candy, because Norway
is so picturesque. It makes a great book for your coffee table,
and your travels.
